VenaSeal™ Closure System
What is VenaSeal™?
The VenaSeal closure system is the only non-thermal, non-tumescent, non-sclerosant procedure that uses a proprietary medical glue known as VenaSeal to shut the main defective vein. Once the vein is glued shut, it will undergo a hardening process and gradually be absorbed by the body. This unique technique is very safe and effective as it eliminates the risk of nerve injury while treating the small saphenous vein, and the lower part of the great saphenous vein.
How does it work?
The VenaSeal™ procedure is a very simple and straightforward treatment where the patient will remain fully awake throughout the entire process experiencing no pain. Prior to the procedure, the area in which is being treated will be thoroughly numbed to ensure no discomfort. Once the area is numb, a slender catheter is placed within the vein where the VenaSeal™ medical adhesive will be precisely injected through the catheter into the damaged veins. Lastly, a bit of pressure will be applied to the area to ensure the vein is sealed shut.
